Don't Outsource Your Fitness To Your Domestic Worker (And Machines)
Remember, your domestic worker and machines are intended to help you, not to replace you...
If you do your (maximum) household chores by yourself, these are some of the solid advantages -
1. It boosts your creativity. There might be some truth in what Agatha Christie once stated - " The best time to plan a book 📖 is while you're doing the dishes."
2. You never know, it may help you to enter into Zen flow - " Before enlightenment, chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment, chop wood, carry water."
3. Only because you are paying money to your domestic worker, you should not insist on 'Paisa wasool' ( extracting your money's 'full worth' by extracting maximum work from her/him).
Sometimes, you do a great favor to your health by not eating the remaining half of the pizza you have paid for...
4. Re-start the forgotten art of hand-washing your clothes.
When you squat to do the washing, you create a mini fitness session for yourself. It's so good for your quadriceps, hamstrings, gluteus, calves, arms, all major joints.
It would come as no surprise if the production of washing machines could be reduced by half, half of the physiotherapists would lose their livelihood!
5. 'Use it or lose it' applies to your muscles, not to your domestic worker. By doing your household chores you retain both.
6. Remember, human civilization is passing through a transitional phase.
Ultimately, there will be a day when everyone will live with dignity and no one will have to work for any other person. (Alas, it sounds too good to be true!)
7. It's high time you realized 😳 that the more you depend upon your domestic worker, the more you submit yourself under his/her rule.
This works in a very subtle way. Francis Bacon has very aptly said - " We rule over nature by obeying it."
